homescreen : Tucked away

This is a simple theme that mainly consists of 4 organizational wallpapers, the colors are based on the note colors of Google Keep.

Resources:

Now let's put it together...

Multipicture Live Wallpaper:

As in past themes, we’re going to set up our MultiPicture Live Wallpaper to display a different image for each homescreen. The PNGs included in the Resource folder are the ones I used. I’ve also include the PSDs if you want to make changes to the section headings for what you use most.

After you’ve set your walls you can change your transitions that you prefer. The crossfade transition looks nice going between the homescreens, unfortunately Nova Launcher doesn’t have this option so I usually set them both to something that matches.

Nova Launcher:

As far as your launcher goes, the wallpapers allow for you to choose what grid size you need for your icons and widgets. The grid size I’m using is 5x8. If you want something like two widgets side by side the same width, you can use an even number of columns. I would still recommend using 8 rows though.

As always no margins, status bar, or dock.

Like the GreenScreen theme, we’re also going to place some page jumps. On each arrow, place the Nova Action for Jump to page x. Long press to edit the icon and change it to the included blank png.

All the Rest:

Again, this is totally up to you. The widget’s I’m using are UCCW on the home page (UZIP included), Simple RSS Widget on the news page, Clear Widget Ubermusic Skin on the media page, and Tubular icons throughout.

For widgets that allow you to adjust the text color, the hexcodes are #ffffff for light fonts and #252525 for dark ones. All of the hexcodes for the Keep note colors are also included in the ZIP file.

->Nova Launcher Setup
Open UCCW and import the three widgets you find in the downloaded file (extract and open UCCW folder, find them there).
Go back to Nova Launcher, open Nova Launcher settings and scroll down to “Backup and Import”, select restore and click on “Colours and Circles” (you will see this option if you moved the files properly).

Cool Android Home Screen 14

Cards are all the rage these days, but these are a bit different from the type we're used to. My Color Screen user Semati put together this look that takes modern cues but brings its own flair.
If you want to get the above design, here's what you'll need:P
Do you have an awesome, tweaked-into-oblivion home or lock screen of your own that you'd like to share? Post it in the comments below, or on your own Kinja blog with the tag "home screen showcase" (no quotes). Be sure to include a description of how you made it so we can feature it as the next featured home screen.P

Cool Android Home Screen 8

There is a step-by-step set of instructions, wallpaper, icons, and other details that can be downloaded in convenient .zip file. Note that it’s a bit of a departure from some of the other Get This Look designs we’ve highlighted but we think it’s worth the effort. Also, the layout has only been tested on the Nexus 4 as of now and that the wallpaper might need a tweak.

Social icons

As most of us know by now, flat design is the new trend that is taking the design world by the balls. The more recent trend to compliment flat design now, more so for icons, is long shadow. Long shadow is the process of creating a flat design and adding a shadow to it that extends off of the icon or graphic object to make the “flatness” of it “pop” (kind of counter intuitive isn’t it?).

Circle Icons Pack

One of the key advantages to Android’s openness is the ability to customise the look of the OS to your liking. With third party launchers, widgets and themes, you can give your Android device a beautiful new look with just a few taps. No wonder third party launchers like Nova, Apex, and GoLauncher are among the most popular apps on the Play Store.
These launchers also support icon packs, allowing that extra level of customization. If you’re bored with the stock icons of your Android device, you can use icon packs to give your device a brand new look within minutes.

Cool Android Home Screen 4

This tutorial assumes you have a Nexus 4 running a ROM/Mod that allows the software keys to be hidden, such as Expanded Desktop mode provided by Paranoid Android, Xylon, CM 10.1, and many other ROMS. If you plan on trying this on a device with a resolution other than 768×1280, expect to make some tweaks. I use GMD Gestures for navigation. I set my Workspace UI under Paranoid Android Settings to Tablet mode (1000p), and set the User Interface Size to 250 DPI. This was done because the Phone Mode notification panel doesn’t to work with Expanded Desktop enabled, but the Tablet Mode one does. Also, it’s easier to reach the notifications since they pop up f
