Hero Of Many Is A Beautiful Side Scrolling Game That Definitely Isn't About Sperm

Hero of Many is a side-scrolling game featuring that silhouette style that so many indie games love these days. You play as a glowing nucleus of energy, leading a "swarm of water beings" around, fighting bad, black water thingies. They are definitely not sperm cells.

The game is played with no words, which is not a romantic metaphor. Your nucleus collects new pieces and expands, which is not a visual representation of a growth cycle. Your white minions with swollen heads and wiggly tails fight for survival as they surround the nucleus which is not an allegory for conception. You travel down a series of dark corridors which is not...actually, I'm going to leave that one alone.

Jokes aside, Hero of Many is actually pretty fun. It creates a nice atmosphere and is able to draw you in with a captivating environment. It slowly builds excitement as you progress through the early stages, until eventually it puts on some Barry White and I'm sorry! Really, this game is fun and I'm 12 years old. It's $2 in the Play Store. Go try it.

Fruit Ninja Free new update

Fruit Ninja Free Gets Massive Update With Local Tablet Multiplayer, New Blades, New Backgrounds, And Yes, More Fruit

It's been quite a while since the Android version of HalfBrick's food murder simulator Fruit Ninja got a content update, but the dry spell ends today. The latest additions to the free app (and only the free app) include better support for Android tablets and a basket full of extra goodies. The most important bit is certainly the introduction of a local, single-device multiplayer mode, though you'll need a 7" or larger tablet to take advantage of it. Players slice fruit at the opposite ends of the screen to compete for a high score.

Other new content includes eight more blades (including a calligraphy brush and rainbow sword) and seven new backgrounds. More interesting for dedicated players is the pomegranate, which can clear other adjacent fruit and bombs when sliced multiple times. There are new power-ups and special moves as well: bomb deflection, a highly unstable berry, and peaches which add extra time to your round. All these can be had by earning Starfruit in-game or buying it via an in-app purchase.

Interestingly, only the free ad-supported version of Fruit Ninja is getting the update, at least at the moment. The paid version and Fruit Ninja THD have not been updated (the latter hasn't been touched since 2011). Also note that the update doesn't include support for any Google Games features.

Zombie Survival Game The Rolling Dead Makes Sphero Fun Again

What? You don't have a Sphero? Well, you're going to need one to play this amusing free game. Sphero is a neat little ball-shaped robot that rolls around in response to things going on inside your phone. In this case it rolls around your floor killing augmented reality zombies with fireballs. That's got pretty much all the makings of something awesome.

So you point your device's camera at the Sphero, and the undead will attack. As you guide your sphere of death around in real life, the virtual zombies respond to it. You can play the game anyplace there is a flat enough surface for the Sphero to roll around on.

There are a number of other Sphero apps, but the device itself is $99 (down from $130). Kidding aside, this one does actually look kind of compelling.
